I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. My family and I did. Now I wish I could hibernate for at least a week! Every year I plan on simplifying, but just can't seem to pull it off. I would love to hear any suggestions you might have on that matter.
Thought I'd share the chalkboard I made for my kitchen. My husband bought it at an auction a few years ago. It was originally a mirror. An extremely heavy mirror and about 6 feet tall. However it was being stored in the basement until we got around to restoring it. Yep, the mirror got broke!( I'm only 2 years into my bad luck so far.sighhhhhh) So with some white paint ,stain.and chalkboard paint, it became a chalkboard. A rather cool chalkboard, don't ya think?
Decided it needed a little something ,so I added a paper wreath I made from some rather old brittle book pages. For just a little distressed bling, an antique button, old tinsel and ribbon! Just Right!!!

Happy New Year... Dawn... The Bohemian
Loving the frame on your chalkboard!!! I have been simplifying my nest too! I take down my holiday decor, clean the room, and try and take away at least 2 things. I create new vignettes and tablescapes on smaller scales. I have a whole box of treasures for my Etsy shop and booth space! Hey...if I need more I do love to treasure hunt!
Happy New Year!!
Your chalkboard is just gorgeous! And it's so huge! What a great idea, and I love your paper wreath, too:)
This is gorgeous, Tami! What a find! I love the addition of the paper wreath. I'm so jealous... I would love that in my house:)
Okay, so I thought your blog looked cool and then I saw this chalkboard goodness. I LOVE it! What a great idea and I might even say that I like it as a chalkboard better than a mirror?!

awesome frame for such a useful addition to ur home! i love it!
That frame is amazing! Great transformation.
What did you use for the chalkboard? Was the wood already there and you painted it? or did you buy wood and paint it with chalkboard paint? OR did you find a chalkboard the right size? Quite curious, aren't I?
